Take a peak inside our new shop! We’re still getting set up but here’s the scoop.

We had an opportunity to move into the cabinet shop of Wallis Woodworks. As John Wallis is transitioning into retirement, he was looking to downsize his shop. While Oxford Design continues to grow, we were looking for a bigger space to accommodate new tools and larger projects. It just made sense for us to slide right across the street into his nice big space. We get to grow into a bigger shop, use top of the line tools and learn from John’s 40+ years of experience, while he gets to slow his operation and ultimately retire.

We will continue to operate as Oxford Design, shifting our focus to custom cabinetry and continuing to build furniture. We are also excited to be sharing the attached office space with @atlas_designinteriors, working on architectural and interior design.

We are thrilled for this next step and are ready for your custom cabinetry, furniture and interior design needs. Let’s do this!

Lots of custom pieces and careful finish work for this credenza and floating shelf combo. Love the way all the different colors of Walnut flow together. Every piece was hand rubbed with @rubiomonocoatusa. I think our elbows are still sore!

Some large Maple closets from a few months back. They were a struggle to get up the stairs and cleared the ceiling by just 1/4”. But they settled in just fine!

One of our favorite dining tables from this year. 9 feet of rustic white oak with 5” x 5” chunky legs. Finished off with a matte finish for this special light and bright space.

Paul at @concretecraftsman brought us in on this creative reception desk for an office space in San Jose. I challenged myself to miter all edges so the grain could naturally flow from piece to piece. After lots of geometry and some stressful trips up a service elevator, the cabinets all came together beautifully. Paul then followed up with making his templates and nailed it on the concrete!

It’s always challenging to get a photo of a cabinet and a mirror and stay out of the way! This white oak entry cabinet features grain matched fronts, finger pull grooves and a custom powder coated steel base.

This was an interesting project from a few months back. These slabs were branches from a Claro Walnut tree in King City. There were birds roosting in the tree and leaving droppings on a farmers produce so the tree was cut down. There are steel rods connecting the book matched slabs, leaving a unique reveal down the center.
